Dr. John Koehm graduated from the University of Illinois in 1972. He has been serving and caring for animals as the owner of Community Animal Hospital since 1978.
His continuous and growing interest in veterinary dentistry has taken him to a new level of expertise and patient care. Since the early 1990s Dr. Koehm has received hundreds of hours of continuing education credits guided by his focus on veterinary dentistry. This has included studying with both veterinary and human dentists. In January 2002, he began limiting his professional activities to the practice of veterinary dentistry in such fields as periodontics, oral surgery, endodontics, orthodontics, exodontics, and prosthodontics.
Dr. Koehm's pursuits outside the hospital include sail planes, hang gliding, scuba diving, mountain biking, and skiing. These activities also include spending time with his favorite veterinarian: his wife, Dr. Cathy Connelly.
Dr. Koehm has completed his credentials and examination requirements to become a Fellow of the Academy of Veterinary Dentistry. He is the
first Fellow in the state of Nevada and 1 of 86 in
the world.
